Gospel Choir Category Winners

AIMS Choral Festival 2010

The OLV Gospel Choir won 1st prize in the Gospel Choir category at the 2010 AIMS Choral Festival (Association of Irish Musical Societies) in New Ross on Sunday the 23rd of May 2010. Well done to all the singers, the band and of course, the choir's fantastic former director, Kevin Kelly.

Their two songs were Man In the Mirror and You've Gotta Have Faith. The adjudicator (the renowned Geoffrey Spratt) commented: "They were so good that they made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up." Their winning mark of 90/100 was matched by only one other choir across all categories and in all competitions at the 2010 AIMS Choral Festival. While waiting for the results, the choir entertained the people on the streets of New Ross with a few songs. Quite a crowd gathered to listen to them.
